The Smashing Pumpkins – Silvery Sometimes (Ghosts) – Review

The Smashing Pumpkins are back with anther single! It’s only been a couple months sense “Solora”, was released – and frankly I can safely say I like this song better.

Yeah, I said it.

Silvery Sometimes just might actually be their best single sense 2013. It was incredible! To start, it’s much different than most of the Pumpkins songs. It’s really poppy, like an extension of their 1995 blockbuster hit “1979”. The song itself isn’t really nessacarily “pop rock”, but it’s definitely got that edge and vibe.

Immediately you are put into a different world when Billy strums his guitar with octaves at a clean tone. And then his voice starts singing, and it’s just truly magical. Definitely a 5 star single, that has moved up on my favorite SP songs.

Also keep in mind, they haven’t released a lot of alt-rock sense 2000. Solora was totally progressive rock, and that’s okay – but the Pumpkins became big with the alt-rock genre. They were an alt-rock band, who arguably perfected and defined the sound of the 90’s.

My point is, The Smashing Pumpkins are awesome and the new single is astonishing, & profoundly amazing. Beautiful song, that you should try out!!!

(It’s a lyric video, but the visuals are really really cool)
