My top 10 Favorite Metal Albums

Hey everybody, I’ve been getting into metal music pretty recently, as my sister is a huge metal-head, she’s told me about a lot of great metal albums I should check out. And I loved them, today I’m taking a look at the top Ten Best Metal Albums ever (in my opinion.).

10. METALLICA (1991) – METALLICA

“I’ve never been a fan of these guys, but I’ll be honest with you and say I like this album. Their one album that I liked was pretty awesome, I really do like it. Featuring “Enter Sandman”, with it’s head-on amazing riff, or with “Nothing Else Matters”, beautiful and simplistic solo I cherish this album.

9. UNDERTOW (1993) – TOOL

“Like Metallica I’ve never really liked these guys, but man do I love this album. It’s heavy solos that predict the future of metal, and it’s absolutely awesome. An album EVERY metalhead loves.” -Luke Giese

8. AND HELL WILL FOLLOW ME (2011) – A PALE HORSE NAMED DEATH

“I didn’t start listening to metal until I heard this awesome album, featuring the first lick to “Heroin Train”. It inspired me to look at more metal music and because of that I’m kinda forced to put this album in. The album is pretty fricking awesome.” -Luke Giese

7. JAILBREAK (1976) – THIN LIZZY

“This is rightfully dubbed an album within an album. Bringing out the classic heavy roots of 70’s metal, it’s a great album and if you don’t think I probably couldn’t be your friend. Just kidding :).” -Luke Giese

6. 1984 (1984) – VAN HALEN

“It’s awesome how they put the year of album’s release date as the number. Eddie ‘s at his best at this album, and it’s AWESOME. Never liked crap Halen, but man do I love this one album. Top ten forever!” -Luke Giese

5. BIG ONES (1994) – AEROSMITH

“Steven Tyler only became better by losing his voice, the band went from loose pop hits to this legendary metal album. Loved it, and listen to it pretty much anytime I’m working out.” -Luke Giese

4. ALL HOPE IS GONE (2008) – SLIPKNOT

“The album consisting of the band’s only acoustic song “Snuff”, makes me love them more. The band is pretty awesome and I don’t even like industrial metal.” -Luke Giese

3. PARANOID (1970) – BLACK SABBATH

“I’ve never liked these guys, but when I heard this album I became a fan. The album was so good that it became enough for me to like them, and I found even more good work outside of it.” -Luke Giese

2. THE NUMBER OF THE BEAST (1982) – IRON MAIDEN

“When you say metal, most peoples minds go to this album and as well they should. With your free history recap on “Run To Hills”, or with a valuable life lesson in “The Number Of The Beast”, you’ll see what I mean. Unintentional rime by the way, I’m a songwriter so I guess it kinda becomes a habit.” -Luke Giese

“Before I tell you what my favorite metal album of all time is, I’d like to list a few honorable mentions. Such as Graveyard Shift (Motionless In White), Led Zeppelin IV (Led Zeppelin), and Wretched and Divine:The Story Of The Wild Ones (Black Veil Brides).

1. THE DEVIL PUT DINOSAURS HERE (2013) – ALICE IN CHAINS

“This without doubting is my favorite metal band of all time, and this is my favorite metal album ever! Although it’ll never be the same without Layne Staley, it’s a fact that Alice In Chains didn’t Convert to full on metal until William Duvall was recruited. Their first album without Layne “Black Gives Way To Blue”, was no doubt a horrible album, yet was the ending of great band. I had my doubts that Duvall would not bring as much great to the band as Layne did, and I was fooled when the band came out when this album. Sure Alice In Chains Best was in the 90’s, but this album was like no other metal album not just by them, but by anybody. I appreciate all following, and make sure to inform me what your favorite metal album is!” -Luke Giese
