In the past I’ve focused on really difficult guitar solos, like shreddific stuff. But today we’re taking a step back and looking at the top ten easiest guitar solos EVER MADE. This list is mainly just for fun, but it’s also great for any beginner guitarists looking for some easy solos to start with. Enjoy!
10. SNUFF by SLIPKNOT
Now I know what you’re thinking. There’s a lot of solos easier than Snuff! But the reason it’s on here is because it’s a Slipknot solo that isn’t that hard. So it’s gotta make the list. Great easy solo. So easy you can spin in a chair while playing it!
9. FOLSOM PRISON BLUES by JOHNNY CASH
This is one of my absolute favorites! It’s super easy, about a literal 5 or 6 notes, and even played slowly. None the less it’s a great song and you can’t diss out Johnny Cash. He was awesome.
8. SWALLOWED by BUSH
First off, I’d like to start by saying that this is one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite bands. But the solo is literally SO EASY it made me laugh. Because Nigel is an amazing guitarist, and it’s surprising to have a Bush solo that easy. So easy you can play it with a sock on your hand. I’ve literally tried it.
7. WOULD? by ALICE IN CHAINS
Actually there are a lot of solos easier than this, too. But same with Snuff, it’s an Alice In Chains solo that isn’t that difficult. It’s around 10 notes, and it’s a bit tricky at first with the trill intro, but if you practice it enough it’s really not that hard.
6. SMELLS LIKE TEEN SPIRIT by NIRVANA
Regarded this is one of the most iconic songs in the history of music, but the solo is really easy. So easy that you could probably play it standing on your head. (I’m sorry I really need to stop with those punny/puny jokes.)
5. HOLIDAY by GREEN DAY
This is one of my favorite songs of all time, but the solo is so easy that I considered adding sweep picking, but than I realized that it really sounds better the way it is. It’s pretty much just the F minor pentatonic scale.
4. COME TOGETHER by THE BEATLES
Off one of my favorite albums ever made “Abbey Road”, this song is great. But the solo is so easy you can play it with your hand over the fretboard!
3. SEVEN NATION ARMY by THE WHITE STRIPES
This solo is so easy The White Stripes can play it. But I won’t diss out on it because It’s a great song, and actually the first song I ever played in a band. Wouldn’t say the band is one of my “favorites”, but I do like this song. Besides who can live up to Jack White anyway? But seriously, this list could very well be all Jack White solos.
2. I WANNA BE SEDATED by THE RAMONES
Of course this solo makes the list. It’s literally one note. And in the recording it all most sounds like a beginner playing it. But I’m not one to judge, I love this band, and the solo is very effective and works.
1. LOLLIPOP by LIL WAYNE
It’s easier than The Ramones solo. And that’s ONE note. Not only is this the easiest solo ever made, it’s also a load of garbage. This solo is just bad. You don’t even need your guitar to play it. Infact to give yourself complete lack of ability try playing it upside down with your thumb at the bottom of the neck. It’ll most likely will sound like the original. I’m not being mean here…okay I am. But the guy can’t even figure out how to wear pants correctly, should we really be surprised that he can’t play guitar very good?
Thanks for reviewing! Let me know if I left out a solo out in this list, what do you think the easiest solo is?
P.S. I know someone somewhere is thinking “Why is he making fun of these guitar solos?” I promise you I’m not, I’m a huge fan of most of the artists on this list. I’m just having fun, and giving some beginners some good starting solos. And hey, if you enjoyed this and want more guitar than please do subscribe to my YouTube channel “The Book of Luke.”
