Top 4 Best Musicians That Died At Age 27 (The 27 Club)

It’s well known that there are plenty of musicians we love that we lose to drugs and at such an early age. So today I thought we’d take a countdown of the top 4 best musicians that died at the age of 27. Because somehow, some of my favorites have died at that age.

4. Brian Jones (Death:1969)

Brian Jones, known famously as the original frontman and founding member for one of my favorite bands ever, The Rolling Stones, makes the list without question. The guy is missed so much and I love the Stones. Dying of drowning is such a cruel way to go. It’s very sad, and this of course isn’t one of my favorite lists to make.

3. Jimi Hendrix (Death:1970)

Jimi Hendrix was the greatest guitarist of all time without hesitation and it was one of the hardest things for all guitarists to see him go. That’s what drugs will do, and I hate seeing some of my favorite musicians such as Hendrix loose themselves doing drugs, and they die young because of it. The guy was incredible, he knew guitar right side up just as well as he did upside down!

2. Jim Morrison (Death:1971)

“Ok I know it may be a bit weird seeing that Jones died 69, Hendrix died 70, and Morrison died 71. But this is my opinion. Morrison was and is one of my favorite singer/songwriters and The Doors made good music. Such talent and Jim’s death was tragic. An overdose. Face down in a hotel bath tub.

1. Kurt Cobain (Death:1994)

I’m certain that everyone that has read any of my past blog posts knows that this was coming. I LOVE Nirvana and Kurt is missed every day. Whether it was actually “suicide”, or murder – either way he’s missed. I don’t think it’s suicide, I mean it’s an impossible wrist angle he had, but as Billy Corgan always says when he’s asked about Kurt’s death “It’s not my place or my business.” I love you Kurt Cobain, and it took a lot to see you go. Listen to your music every day!

Tell me in the comments below what musician that passed you miss the most.

    1. Agree with Peter. So sad to lose such talented musicians, as well as any human being, to the traps that entangle, and ultimately the cost is life.
